A captivating fusion of natural beauty and intricate craftsmanship, this handcrafted Copper Tree of Life pendant features 4.93g of genuine Moldavite from Chlum, Czech Republic, beautifully complemented by a Herkimer Diamond. The Moldavite displays a rich forest-green colour with subtle olive-green undertones, an irregular organic shape and fascinating natural surface textures. Its distinctive formation gives the pendant an earthy, authentic character, whilst the clear Herkimer Diamond introduces a delicate contrast to the deep green gemstone.

The pendant features an elaborate Tree of Life design, meticulously formed from copper wire to create an artistic, nature-inspired composition. The substantial Moldavite sits within an angular, diamond-shaped copper frame, surrounded by intricately woven wirework that follows the pendant's geometric outline. Delicate copper branches extend across the gemstone, twisting and intertwining to resemble the spreading limbs and roots of a tree. The finely wrapped copper edges add depth and texture, whilst the warm reddish-brown tones of the metal beautifully complement the Moldavite's natural green colouring. A carefully crafted copper bail completes the design, creating a cohesive and distinctive silhouette.

Individually handcrafted, this one-of-a-kind pendant brings together the organic beauty of natural gemstones and the expressive artistry of traditional wire wrapping. The Tree of Life motif, often associated with growth, strength and connection, adds a meaningful element to the design. With its richly textured Moldavite, intricate copper branches and complementary Herkimer Diamond, this pendant makes an eye-catching statement piece for collectors and those who appreciate distinctive, nature-inspired jewellery.

What is Moldavite & where is it from?

Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15 million years ago. The intense, 10,000°C+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.

From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, it landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.

It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.

99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well-preserved specimens are found up to 6 metres underground.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Moldavite, and where does it come from?

Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.

Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.

Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.

To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.

Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value. Prices can vary significantly depending on the size, quality, and uniqueness of the piece.
