An extraordinary specimen from Brusná, a locality celebrated for producing rare, frost-textured Moldavites with a distinct character. This impressive Angel Chime weighs 15.16 grams and measures a striking 70mm in length by 36mm in width, with a consistent thickness of approximately 6mm.
It displays a soft, pale green hue and an unusually unique texture that sets it apart even among other Brusná finds. As expected for a piece of this magnitude and fragility, there are a few minor edge chips — a testament to its long journey through time and exposure to the elements over millions of years underground.
True to its name, this piece sings. Its resonant, bell-like tone can be heard simply by rubbing it between your fingers — a rare and enchanting quality that makes it a prized collector’s item. While it could theoretically be transformed into a dramatic jewellery piece, doing so would likely compromise its chiming property.
A truly rare and magical Moldavite — exceptional in size, sound, and texture.

Angel Chime Moldavites derive their name from the distinctive internal tension of the tektite, which produces a captivating ringing sound when tapped or struck against a hard surface. This melodic tone, often likened to the gentle chime of a bell, is what gives them the enchanting moniker "Angel Chime." Remarkably, only a small percentage of Moldavites possess this unique quality, making those that do particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15mil. years ago. The intense, 10,000°c+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.
From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, It landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.
It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.
99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the Southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well preserved specimens are to be found up to 6m underground.
