Transformation Meets Joy & Vitality

Moldavite and Sunstone form a wonderfully complementary pairing, traditionally associated with personal transformation, renewed confidence and positive energy.

Moldavite — The Stone of Transformation

Formed approximately 14.8 million years ago following a meteorite impact, Moldavite is treasured for its extraordinary origins and distinctive natural beauty. In crystal traditions, it is associated with spiritual awakening, profound personal change and the courage to embrace new possibilities.

Sunstone — The Stone of Joy & Empowerment

With its beautiful warm tones and captivating natural shimmer, Sunstone has long been associated with optimism, vitality, confidence and personal freedom. It is believed to encourage a positive outlook, strengthen self-worth and inspire enthusiasm for life's opportunities.

Together, these two stones symbolise a particularly uplifting combination.

Where Moldavite is believed to encourage transformation and the release of old patterns, Sunstone brings the symbolic qualities of warmth, optimism and confidence to embrace what comes next.

Transformation with optimism. Change with confidence. Growth with joy.

The result is a delightful pendant that combines the fascinating cosmic origins of Moldavite with the sunny, uplifting character of Sunstone.

Beautifully finished in antiqued copper and supplied with a matching brass chain, this charming creation is ready to wear and enjoy.

What is Moldavite & where is it from?

Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15 million years ago. The intense, 10,000°C+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.

From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, it landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.

It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.

99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well-preserved specimens are found up to 6 metres underground.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Moldavite, and where does it come from?

Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.

Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.

Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.

To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.

Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value. Prices can vary significantly depending on the size, quality, and uniqueness of the piece.
