A beautifully handcrafted silver-plated copper electroformed pendant featuring 3.17g of Natural Moldavite from Marouskovo Pole, Czech Republic.

This lovely specimen has an elegant, elongated formation with a broad upper section that gradually tapers into a softly rounded lower end. Its beautiful olive-green glass displays excellent translucency, with delicate natural folds, subtle flowing textures and fascinating variations in colour and depth.

The darker, more heavily sculptured areas near the top contrast beautifully with the lighter, translucent body of the stone. When illuminated, the Moldavite reveals a wonderful depth of green, highlighting the intricate natural structures within its unusual formation.

The silver-plated copper electroformed setting embraces the upper portion of the Moldavite, creating a beautifully organic, sculptural finish. Raised, rounded details and delicate metallic contours follow the stone's irregular edges, while subtle iridescent highlights in the silver-plated surface add further character. Most of the Moldavite remains exposed, allowing its natural beauty to take centre stage.

Copper electroforming is a process in which copper is gradually deposited onto a specially prepared surface using an electrical current. Over time, the copper builds up around selected areas of the stone, creating a durable setting that follows its natural contours. This pendant has been finished with silver plating, giving the organically textured copper an attractive silvery appearance.

Comes with a stainless steel chain.

What is Moldavite & where is it from?

Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15 million years ago. The intense, 10,000°C+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.

From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, it landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.

It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.

99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well-preserved specimens are found up to 6 metres underground.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Moldavite, and where does it come from?

Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.

Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.

Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.

To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.

Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value. Prices can vary significantly depending on the size, quality, and uniqueness of the piece.
