An exceptional pair of natural Moldavite earrings featuring two beautifully textured specimens from Maly Chlum, individually wrapped by hand in 14k gold-filled wire.
What makes this pair particularly special is the remarkable match between the two Moldavites. Because every natural Moldavite specimen is individually formed, finding two stones that correspond so closely in size, shape, proportion, colour and surface texture is no simple task. These have been carefully selected as a pair, with their beautifully sculpted surfaces and complementary natural forms creating an unusually balanced set.
Both stones display excellent natural texture, with the characteristic grooves, folds and sculptural detail that make Moldavite so fascinating when viewed up close. The wire wrapping has deliberately been kept refined and minimal, securing each stone while leaving as much of the natural Moldavite visible as possible.
The warm tone of the gold provides a beautiful contrast against the natural green of the Moldavite, while the simplicity and symmetry of the design allow the stones themselves to remain the focus.
These earrings are wrapped in genuine 14k gold-filled wire. Unlike ordinary gold plating, gold-filled material has a substantial layer of real 14k gold mechanically bonded to a base metal under heat and pressure. It contains considerably more gold than conventional gold plating, producing a much more durable and long-lasting finish while providing the appearance and feel of solid gold without the considerably higher price.
The combination of exceptional natural texture, careful stone matching and individually hand-worked 14k gold-filled settings makes these far more than a standard pair of Moldavite earrings. They are a genuinely one-of-a-kind matched pair, created around two natural specimens that look as though they belong together.

Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15 million years ago. The intense, 10,000°C+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.
From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, it landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.
It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.
99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well-preserved specimens are found up to 6 metres underground.

Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.
Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.
Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.
To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.
Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value. Prices can vary significantly depending on the size, quality, and uniqueness of the piece.
