This custom-made sterling silver pendant brings together two extraordinary natural impact glasses: Moldavite and Libyan Desert Glass.
At its centre is a stunning 3.85g Moldavite specimen from the highly regarded Malý Chlum locality in the Czech Republic. The Moldavite has been carefully secured in a minimal sterling silver claw setting, allowing its natural shape, texture and character to remain the main focus. A piece of genuine Libyan Desert Glass hangs freely beneath it, adding movement and creating a striking contrast between the two stones.
Handcrafted in the Czech Republic by Venina, one of our most accomplished jewellers, this is a completely unique pendant made to celebrate the raw beauty of the stones rather than conceal them beneath excessive silverwork.
Moldavite is a rare natural glass created approximately 14.8 million years ago following a massive meteorite impact in what is now southern Germany. The immense heat and force of the impact melted terrestrial material and propelled it through the atmosphere, where it cooled and fell primarily across what is now the Czech Republic.
Malý Chlum Moldavite is especially sought after for its distinctive sculpturing, surface texture and limited availability. Every genuine specimen is naturally formed and completely unique—there will never be another piece exactly like this one.
Libyan Desert Glass is another remarkable natural impact glass, found across a remote region of the Sahara Desert between Libya and Egypt. Formed approximately 29 million years ago, it is believed to have been created by the extreme heat associated with a meteorite or comet impact event.
This pendant combines two ancient materials formed millions of years apart, on different continents, through two extraordinary cosmic events.
A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) confirming the Moldavite’s origin and authenticity is included.
Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.
Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.
Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.
To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.
Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value. Prices can vary significantly depending on the size, quality, and uniqueness of the piece.
