Presenting one of the most coveted and rare expressions of Moldavite ever formed — the Besednice Hedgehog.

Originating from the now-extinct Besednice Ježkovna locality, exhausted in 2010, these extraordinary specimens represent the pinnacle of Moldavite collecting. No new material of this kind will ever be unearthed. Their unmistakable identity lies in their deeply sculpted, sharply protruding surface — a wild, spiked texture found nowhere else in the world.

At 6.69 grams, this piece stands as a striking example of true Besednice Hedgehog Moldavite. The etching is exceptionally deep and pronounced, with dramatic relief and natural complexity that immediately distinguishes it as a specimen of the highest calibre.

Further elevating its rarity, this piece is also classified as an Angel Chime — a formation revered among collectors for both its structural character and energetic reputation. The combination of Hedgehog texture and Angel Chime formation places this specimen in an elite tier, seldom encountered on the open market.Angel Chime Moldavites derive their name from the distinctive internal tension of the tektite, which produces a captivating ringing sound when tapped or struck against a hard surface. This melodic tone, often likened to the gentle chime of a bell, is what gives them the enchanting moniker "Angel Chime." Remarkably, only a small percentage of Moldavites possess this unique quality, making those that do particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This is not simply a collector’s piece — it is a finite geological artefact. A relic of a violent cosmic event, preserved in one of its rarest and most desirable forms.

A true investment-grade Moldavite, suited for the discerning collector.

Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity tied to a money back guarantee.

What is Moldavite & where is it from?
Moldavite is a rare tektite or meteoric glass, caused by an asteroid impact 15mil. years ago. The intense, 10,000°c+ temperatures of the strike vapourised the asteroid, target rock and sand, flinging the molten substance high into the atmosphere.
From the impact zone in Germany some 300km away, It landed back to earth in what is now the Czech Republic and as it flew, it cooled and solidified into translucent green, glass-like droplets of various shapes and sizes.

It is said that only 1% of what had originally fallen is still intact to this day and the estimates of the total amount of Moldavite remaining is under 300 tonnes. In comparison with gold or diamonds, this makes Moldavite 1000x rarer.
99% of all Moldavite is found in a small area in the Southern part of the Czech Republic. It can be found on the surface but the highly prized, well preserved specimens are to be found up to 6m underground.

1. What is Moldavite, and where does it come from?

Moldavite is a rare, green tektite formed from a meteorite impact that occurred around 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. This extraordinary stone is found only in a small region around the Moldau River in Bohemia, making it one of the rarest gemstones on Earth.

Authentic Moldavite has a distinctive surface texture, natural pits, and a translucent green color that varies in intensity. It is also lighter than glass imitations. To ensure authenticity, purchase Moldavite from reputable sources, and consider requesting a certificate of authenticity.

Moldavite is believed to be a powerful stone for transformation, personal growth, and spiritual connection. It is often used in meditation, energy healing, and other spiritual practices to enhance intuition, amplify energy, and facilitate communication with higher realms.

To care for your Moldavite jewelry, gently clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or prolonged sunlight, as these can affect its color and structure. Store Moldavite separately to prevent scratches.

Moldavite is expensive due to its rarity and limited supply, as it is found only in a specific region of the Czech Republic. Additionally, its unique origins and increasing popularity as both a gemstone and a spiritual tool contribute to its high value.
